Luckenbach, home

Ok, not to divulge my life story, but my mom was quite the free-spirit, and while living in Dallas she saw Luckenbach in a magazine. Actually I think it was the back cover on the record 'Viva Terilingua' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Viva_Terlingua Anyways, that picture encouraged her to just pack up and move...to Luckenbach, TX population 3. I think about 3-4 years later, I came along.

Ive heard tons of stories about hanging out at Luckenbach. If you have never been there, it is really just a beer joint...but kinda like a whole town, maybe more like a park. Not pretty and fancy, but lots of trees, washer pits, picnic tables, people just sitting around singing and picking guitar and, most importantly, ALL of your friends. Even today, it is a little more scheduled, but they try to keep their roots.

Well, one of those friends has been sending pictures! Ive spent so much time researching my
grandparents and beyond, that I guess I forgot about the immediate family. These pictures are great.

The little one in this picture is yours truly!!!
The below picture is my mom and Lee McCullough. He is the one that wrote the song, 'Sweet Arah,' for mother. He is also the one that added the caption. hehehe
Be sure to note the huge sunglasses and tied, pearl snap shirt.

I definatly have a shortage of 'best friends' in my life right now, and these pictures make me so homesick. Ok, maybe not homesick since I live no more then 2 miles from where all these pictures were taken, but wishful for those good times of

just sitting around with friends. This picture is a little scary for me....yes, everyone says I look like my mom, but OMG!!!! Add some bigger blue eyes on her and GEEZ that is me!! In this picture, she is actually the same age I am right now.

Well...its over

Ok....everyone knows what happend to me on September 25 (if not, go back and read about 'My Horrible Day'). It took me over a month to sleep alone in my bedroom, but I did on October 28th. I quickly gained the security of WINTER. Yes, this is Texas, so calling this winter is a bit of a stretch, but it was a small security blanket. I rarely go to sleep before 2, 3 or even 4'clock, and I am always on IM or on the phone until I absolutley fall asleep.

Now....that is over!!!!!! Today it is 67 degrees and there is a huge pasture fire across the river. So, dad and I hop in the truck to go check it out.

WHAT IS IN THE ROAD!?!?!?!?! Nooooooooooooooooo....this cant be!! Keep you guessed it, the sn%^&s are already out. It is January 11th and already warm enough for the reptiles to come out! It is a good thing I dont have a job....cuz I am going to be losing even more sleep tonight.

uggghhhh!
